I have tested this a few times. The Projects list is transferred, the time entries are transferred. Each time entry is correctly named and tagged but lacks the associated project.

Two thoughts:

  1. Toggl rebranded, so Toggle Track might have altered the API (but kept the same API token).
  2. Clockify API has changed; OR this is not available on the free version related to batch edit restrictions.

I'll take a look at the API. I wasn't aware of the changes. Are you transferring a personal account, or were you trying to transfer entries from multiple users?

Mike,
Both ends are personal accounts and only one user per account. The Toggl rebranding (9/7/2020) was to include more products, so now it is Toggl Track (along with Toggl Plan and Toggl Hire). The issues might be on their end, as their website wasn't fully updated to reflect this change and was giving a lot of 404 errors while simply browsing the site.
At this point, I have already manually changed most of the entries, but I'm still interested in improving this tool (at least until Clockify releases its batch import tool).

So I just spun the app up locally and tested a transfer from Toggl -> Clockify without any issues, but I'll try doing the same thing through the production site. This isn't the first time I've run into this issue and I've never been able to reproduce it ☹️. The Clockify API has been incrementally moving to a new version, so it's probably a good time to review which API calls I can update. Hopefully I'll discover the issue in the course of the updates. I'll keep you posted with any pertinent updates.

Mike,
OK, sounds good. Let me know if you need/want a retest from my end. Thanks.

Hi Mike,
I have the same issue; everything imported but not associated to the projects.

Any news on this issue?

@KristofVandenBerghe I apologize for the delayed response. I haven't updated the API stuff in a while, so it's possible that it has become outdated. Could you please answer the following questions:

  1. What type of transfer are you trying to do? (Clockify -> Toggl or Toggl -> Clockify)
  2. Are you transferring data using a personal account for both services (i.e. not a business or multi-user account)?
  3. What is the volume of data you're trying to transfer? Is it several years worth of data with several thousand entries, or just a few months worth? I don't need to know exact numbers, I just need to know if it's a lot or a little.
