  • VSCode Version: 1.37.1
  • OS Version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.17134

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open any Markdown file
  2. Press Ctrl+K V to open the Markdown preview to the side
    => Preview screen shows up as expected
  3. Menu: View > Editor Layout > Single
    => Preview screen is hidden as expected
  4. Press Ctrl+K V to open the Markdown preview to the side again
    => No reaction

If I close the Preview with Ctrl+F4 everything works well.
I assume "Markdown preview to the side" works only as expected when the preview is not already open.
