In light of the recent updates to the Jupyter notebook interface within Visual Studio Code, it has come to our attention that the visual documentation located in /docs/datascience/jupyter-notebooks.md no longer aligns with the current user interface. The following is an example of the discrepancy:
native-language-picker-01
In Section Create or open a Jupyter Notebook, the image native-language-picker-01.png is now obsolete.
The corresponding updated image should be reflected as follows:
jupyter_latest
The inconsistencies between the outdated and current screenshots are as follows:

  1. The “Export” button, previously found in the main toolbar, is now nested within the “More Actions” menu.
  2. The cell toolbar, which was previously positioned at the left corner of the cell, should now be located at the right corner.
  3. The fourth icon in the cell toolbar, present in the outdated screenshot, is absent in the latest version, raising questions about its current relevance and whether it has been deprecated.
  4. A new icon has been introduced at the beginning of the cell toolbar in the latest version.

Additionally, it is important to note that there are several other images within this document that are similarly outdated and require revision to accurately represent the latest version of the Jupyter notebook interface in Visual Studio Code. It is imperative that these images be updated to ensure clarity and accuracy in the documentation.
