Windows terminal launch hot key #2629
Comments
You can do this right now if it is in your task bar :). Win+number key |
Works, but would be nice to have something like Win + ~ / `. |
You can set a global hotkey for any shortcut in Windows. go to the Properties of any shortcut and set a Shortcut Key in the Shortcut tab. Any single letter key will general a CTRL + ALT + Letter global shortcut. |
Win+number in task bar works better for me. But anyway, would have been much nicer if it's a conventional global hotkey that launches wt/cmd. Related: microsoft/terminal#653 |
+1, I'm used to ctrl+space using iTerm & Fluent Terminal, would be nice to have that on Windows Terminal as well. Another feature request would be that the terminal will appear without any animation |
I'd actually go with Win+Space or Win+Alt+Space, like I'm used to launch command line shortcut in VS (Alt+Space), using this extension. |
Win+Space is used for switching language inputs, and Win+Alt+Space is annoying because you have to press three keys that are right next to each other with two fingers (unless you use more fingers of course, which is too slow IMHO) |

Thanks @stewSquared. You can do quake mode now with it. |
Please add a global launch hotkey for Windows terminal (if available, otherwise CMD).
Adding Shift should launch it as admin.
Calling it from a Windows Explorer window, should open it with the current path as working directory.
Thanks
