There is a failed activity log when dragging and dropping columns under snapshots/versions view for file shares/ADLS Gen2 blobs/regular blobs #7676

How Found: Exploratory testing
Regression From: Previous release (1.30.2)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Expand one storage account -> Blob Containers.
  2. Create a blob container -> Upload one blob.
  3. Right click the blob -> Click 'Manage History -> Manage Versions'.
  4. Drag and drop one column.
  5. Check whether there is no activity log.

Expected Experience

There is no activity log.

Actual Experience

There is a failed activity log.

For file shares, this issue is regression from 1.31.2.

In my opinion, having the activity is the desirable behavior. It gives more explicit information on why upload didn't work.

@JasonYeMSFT The activity log makes sense if drag and drop files under Snapshots/Versions view. However, in this case we drag and drop columns instead of files.

@v-xianya I merged a change. We should show the failure activity when drag/drop files to snapshot/version view and show nothing when drag/drop something else.

Verified this issue on the main build 20240123.1. Fixed. So, we are going to close it.
