Hi @kteman can you please gather authentication logs and share them here? |
Im having the same problem:
|
Been having this for a while now. I've tried integrated sign-in (which allows me to enter PW and go through 2FA), various browsers, removing keychain entries, clearing cache/stored passwords. Logging out / in in the web interface but couldnt get this to work reliably. Sometimes the browser pops up and i get At the same time i can access my subscriptions through the VSCode plugin and the browser interface.
|
@kteman @akanz1 @cgranville it looks like all of y'all are on macOS. Can you confirm if you are running Intel (x64) or Apple Silicon (ARM64)? Also, unless otherwise noted, I'm assuming y'all are using 1.32.1. Please lmk if that's not the case. |
Additionally, only thing shared so far from folks are |
Yes, latest and on an M1 in my case. Those are all the logs for one attempt, each additional auth attempt just adds more of the same |
@akanz1 did you go to settings and enable verbose authentication logging? |
Also for everyone (@kteman @akanz1 @cgranville) can you share what your default browser is? You can confirm this in macOS settings. |
I'm using latest version of Brave by default, but i switched the default browser to Safari and made sure that one had no cache/cookies or any login data stored. Here are the logs (verbose and loglevel info) from various files.
Thanks for looking into this, i hope these help. Interestingly enough, just now and exactly like yesterday evening, i was able to authenticate with barely any delay. Unfortunately this morning, i got the notification that i should reauthenticate and that led to the usual issue with no change throughout the day. |
@akanz1 thanks. Would you mind putting the files in a zip, and then drag and dropping into a GitHub comment? That way I know exactly from what files the logs came from. :) |
@MRayermannMSFT Sure, here you go |
@akanz1 as a reminder, you need to repro the issue so related log messages show up in the logs. I recommend following these steps, step by step: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/azure-storage/storage-explorer-troubleshooting#authentication-logs |
removed my subscription, closed storage explorer, cleared out the logs, opened storage explorer, attempted to add subscription. Took multiple minutes for browser to open with the usual Logs are attached @MRayermannMSFT |
So this time your browser did open? But you didn't have to do anything, it just immediately said "Authenticated.", and then nothing ever happened? |
Closing due to lack of response. If y'all are still having trouble with the system browser flow, I'd recommend going ahead and trying to switch to integrated sign in. Instructions on how to do so can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-explorer-sign-in#changing-where-sign-in-happens |
I have a similar problem, but I used the "integrated authentication" workaround. The problem now is: it authenticates, even says it works, says "Added Azure account xxx@hotmail.com", but the left pane says "No subscriptions found". Sigh... I hate it when a tool gets more and more complicated, to the point where suddenly it won't work anymore. This tool worked great for years. Now it's basically busted. |
I have the same issue. The browser sometimes opens, sometimes opens three auth tabs at once from previous requests, and usually, when you manage to log in, storage explorer doesn't interpret the response. I suppose through sheer luck and enough tries it did manage to authenticate eventually. Though now, I get a the "Loading Subscription" spinner infinitely. Notably, using a VPN removes any of these issues. Including being unable to authenticate with a database with Azure Data Studio Not sure what's going on there. |
Same issue and, in addition, all of the menus say "(empty)" |
