If your vmx is generated by vmware and not modified before, then it should be fine.
Check if you have manually edited, and not keep case-sensitive while you edit.
For example, if you have already put mainmem.useNamedFile,
then use the editor, you may add another mainMem.useNamedFile to vmx.
Look at the mainmem vs mainMem, go to your vmx and check if there are two line of same config.
Remove one of them, vmware should allow loading the vmx again.
