poetry shell error

When following the instruction in the README, running poetry shell gives me the following error:

Spawning shell within /Users/gabe/Desktop/mggg/summer23/VoteKit/.venv

unsupported proc format

However, running poetry run jupyter lab worked fine to get me going. I'm not sure if the above error is an artifact of some weird personal environment, but regardless I think more clarity in the README about how to use poetry would be helpful.

Hi Gabe,

Based on this & your other issues it sounds like you're definitely having some environment issues. I can try to help but will need more information about:

• what version of Python you are using (& how it was installed)
• same with Poetry and virtualenv
• what OS & shell you're using

This looks like a bad bash/zsh but it's too early to say for sure.
