Notifications not appearing

When a new mail arrives I don't see any notification. Running franz 5.0.0-beta 18 on ubuntu 18.04. The same problem is happening in Inbox, and hangouts (meetfranz/recipe-hangouts#4). I suspect these are all actually the same issue. Should I submit a separate issue report for Inbox?

I know +1'ng doesn't provide any help.
I've been experiencing this as well; I get the notifications intermittently.

I'm not too versed in JS but anywhere I could look for this so I can submit a fix would be 👌
If not I'll try to figure it out on my own this week

Rarely I receive them but most of the time I don't, although, the notification counter on the icon present on Windows taskbar is updated. Also, it seems to take a lot of time to update the mailbox itself, not sure what can be done about this but for 30m I didn't receive any and then received all at once (10+) without any notification.

on ubuntu, notifications are active in franz, but when a new whatsapp message is received there's NO notifiation anywhere.
