Please provide a concise description of the problem that would be addressed by this feature.
My primary use-case for this app is planning meals for the week and creating shopping lists with it based on the connected recipes. At the moment the meal planning is not very convenient and requires a lot of steps to complete. I found two ways to do it:
Open meal planner and select recipes for meals
My primary issues with this approach are:
Open the recipe database and add them to the mealplanner
However, this approach isn't much friendlier either:
Please provide a concise description of the feature that would resolve your issue.
My proposal would be to add a possibility to show mealplanner on the search and cookbook view and allow the user to drag the recipes down to the mealplanner.
I saw similar functionality in PlanToEat and I really liked it:
In this method once you set a filter or a cookbook (so let's say you use three - one for each meal type), you scroll down the recipes and once you find one that you like you drag it to the mealplanner.
The main benefits I see:
Please consider and list out some caveats or tradeoffs made in your design decision
The UX might be a bit worse for mobile, but the same approach is possible there as well.
I think this could be done with a toggle that enables the mealplanner on the search / cookbook views and would allow re-using existing views for the most part.
It would require showing all the meal slots in the meal planner, even if the slot is empty, so user can drag and drop the item there.
