This is what I see after installing both .deb files:

The terminal command dropbox status shows that it is working fine.

FWIW, this is my experience with Dropbox too (on Juno, with these .debs).

(As a contrast, for SpiderOak ONE I did get a cloud icon and a dropdown menu, but then the flyout menus from that dropdown didn't contain any items.)

After this I tried the old solution https://github.com/hectorm/elementary-dropbox and it still works just fine.
