Container stopping and onlly starting when I connect through ssh

Hello,

Since a few days I have a bad behavior of my container, it is just stopping while nobody is connected and no one is able to connect to it anymore. And when I'm connecting on my host through ssh, the docker container is starting by himself...

I put restart: always at the end of my docker compose file to maintain it up but it is not chaging anything.

That is super weird, could you try with mbround18/valheim:2.3 and see if the issue persists?

Not changing the behavior

Maybe the fact that I run it rootless, thé container waits for the user to log to start. I don't have such experience in rootless containers.

How are you running it? via docker compose or with a webui like portainer?

Also - docker/cli#3914 - possible host issue.

WIth rootless too, hmm i havent tried this example before. your log indicates its receiving an interrupt signal? by chance are you hitting a ctrl+c on the server process? or do you have something that stops processes?

Something is triggering SIGINT.

I'd suggest running with envar DEBUG_MODE=TRUE and cross checking that log with host OS logs.

I'd say something like systemd-oom or something like that is trying to kill the process.

@mbround18 I don't know if you have but did you put in place where if there is something other then SIGINT is received its displayed in the logs?

If not - perhaps something to look into doing? Personally I'd keep it behind DEBUG_MODE=TRUE to keep normal logs clear/clean

Thank you for all your suggestions, after a bit of search, I think I just forgot run an enable-linger on my host... Maybe it would be cool to specify it in installation instructions with docker.
