Hi Max,

thank your for your awesome looking modification.
Currently im planning to do this conversion on my Anet A8 and because i enjoy Voron Tap Probing in my 2.4 im heavily interested in using it on your AM8-Switchwire.

I therefore spent some hours in Fusion and tried to modify your X Carriage, making it compatible with the Tap-Baseplate. Photo attached.

Would love to here your feedback and ideas in improving the design based on your experience on this printer mod. Hopefully i did not oversee a STL-File hiding in a subfolder and provided specifically for my need... this happened to me in the past sometimes.

Would that idea be stupid? Quite theoretical so far

Hi! Thank you, always happy to see people having interest in this mod!

Sadly, I have no experience with Voron Tap. But your design looks good to me so far, it's probably the approach I would have gone for too. It's just that I have concerns about nozzle probing on bedswingers in general, as they usually aren't sturdy enough. Especially for Switchwire it is not recommended to use Tap, since its bed is only fixed in the center. So maybe it can work for the Anet A8 bed, as it is fixed in all 4 corners. I'd definitely replace the bed springs with fixed metal spacers and keep the probing speeds quite low!

Would love to see updates on this! If you like, you can create a PR to share this mod with others when it's done. Just create a folder structure like Mods/Golgomaph/Voron-Tap/ and put the CAD, STLs and a README in there :)

Very wise words.

Tap recommends a rigidity of the used printbed which withstands the probing force of the tap and excludes the switchwire bed in the same sentence. I will dig deeper on that, since im planning to switch to another bed setup anyway.

Will keep you updated. Im very new to github and might need some help in integrating this mod to your repo later, however thats far future talking.
