Version of Kakoune

2020.09.01-3 KUbuntu Repo

Reproducer

  1. open konsole (for testing use default profile)
  2. open kakoune
  3. :colorscheme gruvbox (for example)

Outcome

all colors become far too dark to be readable
here is gruvbox for example

Expectations

actual colorscheme colors be shown

That version of Kakoune emulates custom colour support by setting entries in the 256-colour palette, and Konsole does not support setting the palette, so it just gives you the default palette colours (which start as very dark blue).

Use a different terminal emulator, use a modern version of Kakoune which uses truecolour support, or just set your colour-scheme in the terminal itself, instead of in the applications inside the terminal.
