Difference between Foundation membership and donations isn't quite clear

Hm, I find the donation process very confusing:

There is https://matrix.org/support/ and https://matrix.org/membership/. The first one lists the foundation members, the second one tells you how to become a member. Both of them link to some donorbox, but https://donorbox.org/keep-matrix-exciting allows entering a custom amount and https://donorbox.org/membership-303 does not. I just assume the first one is not a membership then, even though it allows donating the same amount, but if I wasn't reading everything twice, I wouldn't have noticed and once I was on the membership page, it wasn't obvious for me how to find the current members, since it only lists counts at the bottom...

I just found the memberlist on the donate page by accident, but I didn't find it, when I was looking for it.

I would prefer it, if the foundation membership had its own link on the navigation bar and if the donation page would make it explicit, if it includes a membership or not. Especially on the donorbox links.

Additionally I had some trouble figuring out what an associate member is, since it is only described in one blog post, from what I could tell, but maybe I was just looking in the wrong places.

It's not entirely clear whether for how long an individual should be a member, whether they can discontinue their membership in the middle of a term, etc.

We probably want to break down the terms into the page itself

The individuals and organisational tiers should be more clearly separated.

The tiers and corresponding buttons are in the opposite order (individual tiers on the left, but "Individual membership" button on the right)

The "Organisations membership" button is just a mailto: link, which is particularly jarring and unexpected. In some cases people don't notice that their email client has opened a new window in the background.

If your contribution is greater than $5/mo (or €5/mo, £4/mo), you qualify as an Individual Member. Learn more at matrix.org/membership
