Is it possible to export body composition to garmin connect using garth ?

I'm a miscale2garmin developer and I'm thinking of optimizing my project, unfortunately the boodycomposition module used is not further developed (no solution to the problem in garmin-connect) and the YAGCC solution is quite heavy and doesn't work on older RPI (.net module).

Question is there a chance to run this in Garth or another python module ?

Depending on the information you need, the garminconnect may work for you. The garminconnect library uses Garth for authentication and requests, but it has integration for more endpoints.

I think the issue is about uploading data into the Garmin ecosystem rather than downloading it. Most / all body composition data can be downloaded through Garmin connect. But the endpoints for uploads are fewer. I don't actually know if Garmin allows uploads of (e.g. % body fat).

The withings-sync project seems to address this for withings scales by uploading the data in a fit file. Maybe this would work with garminconnect, which can upload fit files. But this approach seems odd to me in that these measurements are not an activity, but rather user data at a point in time. Matin, you were helpful to me 6 months ago in debugging weight uploads with both garth and garmin connect. So that is at least one example of a related upload end point that can work.

Generally I think there is interest in this problem from a number of scales, both Mi and Withings. These scales seemingly offer higher quality data at a much lower cost than the garmin scale.

This may also relate to this week's discussion about more systematically documenting garmin end points. I wonder if it would be useful to create some documentation for garth that documented: known endpoints; associated data elements; whether uploads / downloads are natively supported by garth; whether same is supported by garmin connect.

As I write I am currently using YAGCC (Yet Another Garmin Connect Client), unfortunately it is heavy and does not support older ARM v6: lswiderski/yet-another-garmin-connect-client#5

I thought maybe some simple way to use other projects like this to optimize my solution.

Have you tried the garminconnect library? It has Garmin.add_body_composition()

It's completely in Python and uses Garth for authentication and requests.
