Notifications - Counter disappearing & Notifications marked "Unread" again (UI or UX)

Steps to reproduce the problem

Not sure if this is intended, but it might be a small UI bug or UX issue:
When you go to notifications > Mentions instead of "All" and then leave the notifications menu, you will not see numbers on your notifications anymore.

It also seems to "refill" the unread notification counter by turning already viewed notifications back into un-viewed ones.

Other users on Mastodon were able to replicate / wondering the same thing.

Appreciate the great work you guys are doing and i hope this is actually useful.

Notification counter on profile page should still show number of new notifications

Notification counter shows only number of new mentions

Do your notifications also refresh when you switch between "all" and "mentions"?

@madeindex I remember notifications acting weirdly when switching filters, but I've had it on ALL for a long time now. I'll have to check.
