Since you know Discord is a very popular messaging app, maybe Mastodon can borrow some features from them to gain users.
I would like to add for my instance the ability to tag @everyone, and have all members on my instance get pinged so we can have more community engagement in discussions.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to implement this? I can code but I am not familiar with the mastodon code base.
If I can code it for my instance I will of course send a PR so that other instances can also get this great feature (obviously it should be configurable if an admin wants to turn it off)!
