I was running Mastodon through Docker, and the server's HDD unexpectedly failed before I could take a new backup. I may be able to recover the data from the faulty disk, so my question is: is it worth waiting to see if the DB and everything else can be recovered before recreating my instance, or can I just recreate the instance from scratch (same domain, same username) and, in case, import the DB content afterwards? What would the implications of the latter be?
