The current app is based on Laravel 5.1 upgrade it to the latest 5.7

edit: is it necessary to upgrade step by step, or is it ok just to have the l5.6 version?

@cracker182 you can work on the upgrade. Our end goal is to upgrade to latest laravel version. Have created the new branch "upgrade/laravel".
