Does Luafun have a syntax for pattern matching, similar to functional programming languages such as Elixir?

I wish Luafun had something similar to the ex-patterns JavaScript library, which implements Elixir-style pattern matching.

there is https://github.com/silentbicycle/tamale, I know is not what you are asking for, just stumbled upon your issue, or you might want to use a language that compiles to lua to define your "matching" logic like fennel.
