The major version should increase if-and-only-if the API has change (add/remove/change) in metro on the main branch

  • release build should still happen on EVERY push to main
  • not sure if it should auto-magically calculate the version, or should it be something specify by the PR author
  • and also at this point it probably make sense to also add the "tag this release version" step into CI
