Hello!
I'm using Longhorn to administrate my volumes in a Rancher cluster. My cluster is a test lab.
I was testing the Kubernetes etcd snapshot and restore system, and I had doubts about the following: what's the expected longhorn volume behavior when I restore an etcd snapshot in a disaster recovery scenario?
In my tests, a new volume with the same pv and pvc name is created, but this volume doesn't attach in the pods. Is this the expected behavior? Or should the volumes attach in the pods?
Also, I'm receiving the following error in rancher events after restore the etcd snapshot:
Longhorn MountVolume.MountDevice failed for volume "pvc-xxx" : rpc error: code = NotFound desc = volume pvc-xxx not found
But the PVC should be restored in the process, right? Am I misunderstanding something?
