I did not understand anything about Livebook

I've been trying to set up the live book in my local for the last few days but without success. Mac Universal, mix install, and from the source code but none of them worked.

I'm using Mac OS, my shell of choice is fish, and I use asdf in the dependencies. Erlang/OTP 26 and Elixir 1.16.2 versions installed.

livebook localhost starts working, but a new notebook unfortunately terminates after Elixir Failed to connect to runtime warning.

What should I do for Livebook to work correctly? Is the problem related to environment variables, shell or versions?

Can you post everything that appears in your terminal once you try to run it? If using the desktop app, can you please share all logs?

Yes, the issue is really that your system is not configured properly. There seems to be no machine name (hence nothing after @ in foo@). You can try the steps here if you haven't yet: https://github.com/livebook-dev/livebook/wiki/Installation-FAQ

Thanks @josevalim,

If I'm not mistaken, I'm trying to start libebook with a hostname I didn't specify, which causes a runtime connection error. When I started it with the livebook server --name livebook@127.0.0.1 command, I was able to run it without any problems.
