Use capslock as a modifier key when assigning a snippets hotkey

Hello,

I usually have CapsLock & F12 set up as my global regexrenamer, because regex is just so convenient. I wanted to use lintalist to create a set of presets for the function to choose from for common operations I tend to do when cleaning off obscure identifiers during work. Stuff you would hit your head against the wall for when doing with search&replace in a normal fashion, without having to retrain (and find) another open keycombo for my snippet. So I tried settings capslock & F12 as my hotkey - which sadly didn't work.

I just wondered, because I do it quite a lot myself and got "surprised" when it didn't work in lintalist. Would it be possible to include the capslock key into the list of possibel modifier-keys?
The capslock key is a very underused key by default, and minimal code changes free it up to be another easily accessible modifier key - which is always nice to have, especially if limited to a small laptop keyboard where you can't just sacrifice a numblock.

If it is possible, what'd I need to edit for that to work?

See Configuration, EditorHotkeySyntax setting, after that you can use AutoHotkey Hotkey syntax for snippets so indeed CapsLock & F12

Hmm.
Oddly enough that doesn't seem to work, with any combination, it gives me the following error msg:

Capslock & F does not seem to be a valid hotkey.
One or more keys are either not recognized or not supported
by the current keyboard layout/language.

ErrorLevel: 2 - check AHK Hotkey documentation for reference.

Tested for various combinations of keys, with and without Capslock, also while having all other scripts deactivated - as I first thought there would be some strange interaction that'd do this, but that is not the case.

No such error is given out by other scripts, but there I also can just plain code it. I don't know the integral of lintalist's conversion of text to hotkey, so I am not sure where the mistake is for me.

Then, for unknown reasons I had it work for once after snippet creation, only to then never work again. And while troubleshooting, this has been broken again.

I have pasted my default bundle onto pastebin, wherein that snippet resides.

The code opens up two hotkeys while the snippet is active, and those do run while the tmpscript is running. Said script keeps active till escape is pressed. F12 and Capslock+F12 do the same while active, but no key combo allows me to run the snippet to start it in the first place. For that, I need to open the gui and select manually.
On the other hand, assigning a shorthand works in theory - but because this deals with manually selected text, it is obviously not possible here.

I have gone over the code a fair bit, but I can't find the problem. I am either absolutely blind or it is internal to LL and I can't check that in a practical manner.

Shorthand for the snippet is "test", currently assigned (and not working) hotkey is alt+a.

Update: key & keyindeed wont' work and lintalist would have to be changed to allow for such combinations due to the "$ force keyboard hook" syntax used. I may update this at some point to allow this.

As a work around you could try adding this to another AutoHotkey script which I assume you have running anyway, there you define your Capslock & F12 hotkey which simply sends another hotkey !F12 which you have setup in the snippet. The input/sendlevel makes it so it "sends" it to Lintalist which may not be the case otherwise. I always forget the details about input/sendlevel but adding both here so experiment.
