When I search for an item, it's highlighted but not "checked"

When I search for an item, it's highlighted but not "checked".

See this example:

Here, the first highlighted row is selected but not checked, as I used search to highlight it.
The second highlighted row was manually selected and is also checked

To Reproduce

Search for an item in the search feature of a text column.

Expected behavior

There should probably not be different types of selections, it only creates confusion.
On search, an item should be selected, and all other selections should be cleared.

[I also think search behaviour should be different in general, but there will be another issue for that]
