Requirements for supporting a simulation platform by MEME Parameter Sweep Tool
* Model
- What corresponds to the RepastJ's model concept? (In RepastJ the model is a Java class that implements a well-defined interface. We can use
this interface to answer the most of the following questions). More specific what is (are) the file(s) which we can use to inspect the model.
* Parameters
- How can we identify the parameters?
- How can we define new parameters (how can we change a non-parameter variable to a parameter?)
- How can we investigate the default value of the parameters?
- What is the format of the parameter file?
* Data Collection
- How can we define data collectors?
- How can we time the data recording and data writing (to the output file)?
- Where and how can we define scripts (user defined statistics and methods)? Now, we use the simplest solution: we derived from the model
class and define scripts as methods of the subclass.
- What is the format of the result file?
* Stopping simulation
- How can we time the stopping event of the simulation?
* Run/tick
- Currently the MEME uses these concepts inherited from the RepastJ. What abstractions correspond to these concepts in the examined simulation
platform?
* Running simulation (on localhost)
- How can we run a simulation in batch mode from an other program (from a launcher)?
- How will the launcher program know about the changing of run/tick values and/or the end of the simulation?
- How can we stop one particular run and/or the whole batch of the simulation runs from the launcher (by clicking a button)? (That second is more important.)
* Running simulation (distributed)
