My front-end is very small and DICSS is far to big to be inserted. I thought about using it in my back-end but I haven't tried something like that since college

Front-ends can be adapted to fit DICSS; I think there is a video tutorial for this process quizzically called "Kids In A Sandbox." It demonstrates (using an emulation mechanism) that DICSS can be successfully inserted into the front-end pipeline, though the process does seem to be a bit of a stretch for novices.
