I've tried a few times to install but preflight complains about an unsupported graph driver. I tried BTRFS and overlay2.

As a fix, please update the error message and the Limitations section about what is actually supported. We can't assume that whatever docker supports, you will.

Same for me, with 1.6.1, Ubuntu 16.04.2 x64:

Docker indeed uses btrfs:

$ docker version
Client:
 Version:      1.12.6
 API version:  1.24
 Go version:   go1.6.4
 Git commit:   78d1802
 Built:        Tue Jan 10 20:38:45 2017
 OS/Arch:      linux/amd64

Server:
 Version:      1.12.6
 API version:  1.24
 Go version:   go1.6.4
 Git commit:   78d1802
 Built:        Tue Jan 10 20:38:45 2017
 OS/Arch:      linux/amd64
$ cat /etc/docker/daemon.json
{
  "graph": "/data/docker",
  "storage-driver": "btrfs"
}

With --skip-preflight-checks the node managed to join the master.

This is due to that the node team hasn't officially validated the overlay2 driver, this is working as-is with the warning in place. I think overlay2 should work just fine though...
