I can't import it normally

ack I changed it because of this issue #39

but I think you're right. this should be the behaviour and people should use alpha channel when importing over the current image

I am pretty sure this is not related to the alpha channel issue at all? the person that started the thread seems to be complaining about incorrect color recognition.

It also doesn't seem like the imported image interpreted any color as transparent, and rather imported one of the greys as red.

the current issue is a direct result of me changing the behaviour for the linked issue. previously import sprite just used to use alpha, and now it uses the top left colour as background

It also doesn't seem like the imported image interpreted any color as transparent, and rather imported one of the greys as red.

red is the transparency colour in the shown palette
