Would you consider adding that feature?

For example, the currently active file was zzmsg.txt.

The pannel showed all the files in the directory where 'zzmsg.txt' is located.

Sorry for late reply. The release of the new version WindTerm_2.0.0_prerelease_3 messed me up.

In WindTerm, there is already a filer pane. If you open a Cmd session, local file system will be loaded into this filer pane just like what you wanted. WindEdit will share this feature too.

In addition, WindEdit already provides several similar functions. One is the "Show in filer" button marked in red in the address bar. Click it will open the containing folder in the Explorer. The second is the breadcrumb buttons in the address bar too, which is one of the good designs in WindEdit I think.
