I'm really excited about Lotionjs, it really opens up Cosmos to a whole..... cosmos of Javascript developers. ;-)

However, I'm curious about the future of Lotionjs, development seems to have slowed somewhat and documentation has not kept pace. A quick search of Twitter shows not much activity in the past year. Does it make sense to learn Lotionjs? What is Nomic-io's future/goals with Lotion? I would personally love to see it become 'a thing'.

Hey @crazyrabbitLTC, thanks for the issue!

Does it make sense to learn Lotionjs?

Yes! We have solid plans to build our own production apps with real value at stake, so Lotion will undergo an intense hardening this year. You can count on it becoming a sensible choice for real apps.

What is Nomic-io's future/goals with Lotion?

Here's a little glimpse of the shape of things to come! 😉

Everything in the contracts section is currently implemented as middleware, but much of it will probably just become part of Lotion in the future.

Other than that, our only plans are to implement IBC, improve performance (e.g. in our data store). and improve security (write more tests, use SES where appropriate, etc). This repo itself is pretty small, so most of the action here will continue to just look like "updated dependencies" once in a while.

I would personally love to see it become 'a thing'.

Me too! 🙂

Do you have any specific questions I can answer to help you get started?

Thanks!
