Hey @dat-linux this extension does not support JupyterLab 4 yet.

OK thanks.. It also does not uninstall fully. The icons still appear in the toolbar. How to get rid of them?

@fcollonval I have jupyterhub 4.0.0, jupyterlab 4.0.0, and jupyterlab-git 0.41.0 showing in my pip list. The extension shows installed on the frontend. But I am not showing any Git button or menu item. Can you please tell me what version combinations work?

Nevermind, I downgraded to jupyterlab 3.6.3 (leaving the jupyterhub and jupyterlab-git versions as is) and the git button and menu item appeared. While this also means that jupyterlab_git and @jupyterlab/git are different versions now, I can still authenticate and use git normally so far.

Hi @pv-is-nrt how could i downgrade my jupyterlab? Right now I have installed the version 4 but I don't know how to return to a version 3

Hey @jrojasquiroz! You can downgrade using the following command in your shell pip install jupyterlab==3.6.3. Make sure to activate the correct virtual environment (use the one where jupyterhub and jupyterlab are installed) before running the command. That command will automatically downgrade your current version 4 to 3.6.3. I am assuming you used pip to install jupyterhub/lab and not conda. I wrote a detailed guide here.
