This is something I'd like to see.

On my resume, I have a proffessional summary paragraph, and then a bulleted list of highlights (technically, I listed them as skills or competencies, but skills has a different meaning in the resume-schema). This way, when I'm updating a resume for a specific role, I can highlight what I feel is most appropriate for that position.

ResumeFodder does this as an extension to the schema (however, they still use company instead of name, and don't have a volunteer section).

"highlights": [
        "Bullet-point list items that you would like to include along with (or instead of) a summary paragraph."
    ],

Actually, I think this is not an issue, what you need is rather another way to present your data, can you provide an example of highlights ?

I don't think enough people require this field.

There is a top level property called meta which let's you add what ever you want.
