Everyone, for serious, book your travel if you aren't local :)

As soon as you book it send me the receipts and I'll get a check sent for reimbursement.

Do we have a hotel/whatever recommendation for speakers? I know nothing about Oakland and people were asking about it.

We should talk to some of the local hotels and see if they can offer a group promo discount.

Any updates on hotel recommendations / deals / whatnot? People are asking and I'm not sure if I should recommend random spots :)

Hey, signal boosting this to see if y'all have an idea of where we should be booking rooms. I wanna set up where I'm throwing all my clothes and hair next month :D

So, there are literally zero hotels really close to the venues (which are mostly in Uptown).

Your best best would be AirBnB, there are some close to the venue and all of them look better than the hotel options in Oakland.

If you do go with a hotel the closest ones are about 10 blocks away and aren't that great, those are:

  • The Washington Inn Hotel
  • Oakland Marriott City Center

Farther away, about another 10 blocks, is Jack London which has some nice hotels:

  • Waterfront Hotel (this is the nicest one)
  • The Inn at Jack London Square (Not to be confused with the "Jack London Inn" which is GAWD AWEFUL)
