import variable fonts

Hello!

I love the software, its so clean and user friendly.

I bought a copy of birdfont to create variable fonts, but I couldn't import them with their variable features. I am able to create variable fonts which is nice. When I import variable fonts, it only imports them as a standard .ttf file.

Is there any way I can import variable fonts?

I'm not shy to write something in python to do this also

Thank you for the report. It is a missing feature. I have not written a variable font parser.
