Is this theme still usable? Pandoc / Pandoc-Sidenote version mismatches

Hey,
I love this theme and would love to use it! But it looks like the repo has gone stale. Pandoc-sidenote latest version depends on a Pandoc version that is far older than the current. Is there a way to get this theme running? I've had no luck with trying to build the required older version of Pandoc on Mac (M1).

Hi! I second @a-arbabian request. I am getting the following error:
