Hi, may i ask, do I have to continuously be on the same wifi as my smart plug for it to log down the energy usage? Can I go offline on my computer while it still continuously log down the energy consumption usage?
For context, i am enquiring because, after setting up, i will be at a remote location away from the device for a prolonged period.

Unlikely; that'd require the tplink plug to buffer all that data in its memory; there might be some short buffer, but certainly not for what you have in mind.

Might be better off creating a 24h-on server, maybe give something like raspberry pi a go?
