There is no activity here for couple months. Or maybe it has moved to another repository?

Yes and No. I'd lean more towards no though.

Since I was laid off from Novell, I haven't had any time to work on Manos. Also, I don't really have much of a vested interested in server-side .NET anymore.

Most of the other contributors were students, so they are back in school now and since the project doesn't have any momentum behind it, its doubtful they'll come back next summer.

I'd like to say that at some point I'll have more time to work on Manos, but its highly unlikely. I think if I ever do get any free time to play with server side technologies again (I am working in Mobile now), I will likely contribute to projects like Node.

What state is the code left in? Is a clean fork feasible? This is a project I have been following for some time.

Yes, I feel the code is in a pretty good state right now, which is another reason that work dropped off.

Personally, I'd like to see some of the underlying stuff rebuilt using libuv.

A fresh fork would be something i fully support though.

I think it might be good idea to put the project under code52 (http://code52.org/) with some clearly defined goals (like mentioned libuv, improvements in template engine or session data). But first of all to reach the developers willing to participate (some kind of hype is around code52 currently). It could be put on their ideas site (http://code52.uservoice.com/forums/143105-code-52). What do you think?

The problem is, Manos really is more designed to work on Linux. So going to the larger .NET community for help is tricky. If .NET people want something similar, they will probably use something that is more designed around Windows's IO model, like SignalR.

Yeah, I would also like to Manos stay that way. However there are still cross-platform issues (like template engine) and I think code52 itself is willing to support mono software (and non .net software too, as they say).

Note that they started monogame version of samurai, pretzel is also said to be created with Mono in mind.

Why do all the good projects die. :(
