No working on Android Studio canary 4.2 #445
Comments
That‘s because you are using java8, which is not supported anymore. |
Ah, how should i solve it? |
So how did you get your Android Studio canary 4.2 installed? |
Just download from https://developer.android.com/studio/preview/, Hmmm sytem is macOS |
Can you show me your info like
|
yes, this is my as info:
|
Ok, it seems that Android Studio still sucks in java8, that's way too bad. |
You can use 5.34 from https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/10080-rainbow-brackets/versions |
Ah...sorry i dont know this, but on Android, it may only support up to jdk 8 |
OK, thx! |
Unfortunately, we can not just switch back to java8, because lots of our dependencies are using java 11. So, I will make 6.x series incompatible with Android Studio. |
Please follow this issue on the Android Studio issue tracker. |
OK, i'll wait for it, thanks again for your help! |
I'm having the same issue using Android Studio 4.1 beta 3. I was not able to install 5.xx version because it doesn't allow me to, it says the version is incompatible. Any way to get around this? |
please try 5.34 or earlier versions

Ah yes, that worked thanks. I was trying 5.35, sorry about that |
This issue should be fixed in the latest release(version 6.9.1), it should be publicly available within two business days~ And you can also download the snapshot build if you want to upgrade early. |
