LOCK_SENT_INVOICES is not available in v5. The app is used in many parts of the world where locking is not required from a legal view point, so it is used here more as a helper than a guaranteed way of preventing modifications. Just to note however, any changes to an invoice are persisted via the backups, where a full HTML copy of the document is stored, so the history of an invoice - and all of its changes - are kept on file. |

Hi,
I'm using a self-hosted instance on k8s.
The software seems to "work". Now I have a big misunderstanding about the invoice lock function.
Why can we change the lock function from the user interface in the settings? Any "Admin" can change these settings, update sent/paid invoices, which is an illegal action from a legal point of view.
Even with the environment variable
LOCK_SENT_INVOICES
set totrue
, I'm able to: update sent and paid invoices, remove the invoice lock function from the user interface settings. Is this a normal function or a real bug?
I was thinking of doing hosting for several invoiceninja instances, but it's only hosting, if the customer wants to do an illegal invoice update, they can, and that's not normal. I've never heard of a law that allows a post-invoice modification.
Can someone explain the invoice lock function to me more precisely, I probably didn't understand how it works?
Thanks in advance!
