Purpose of the “User” field

Whats the purpose of the “user” field?

The following question might or might not make sense depending on the purpose of this thing:
Why do only admins have access to it?
Why aren’t non-admins auto-assigned when creating entries?
Does it integrate with access control in any way?

in v5 we have expanded the scope slightly of entities so that an entity can be shared/managed with another user in the system.

For example is User A creates Client X, Client X can then be assigned to one other user, User B.

User B could then view/edit the data in the client.

We have a group of 4 users working with Invoice Ninja.
I did an update today and now user A can't see any customers/invoices from user B.
When user c creates a new customer, user a and b cannot work with the new customer.
What did I do wrong? Is it now impossible to work with Invoice Ninjka in a company with more than 1 user?
