How to get networking working?

On the VM setup I just continued without doing anything at the network setup thinking that networking would work automatically, which is not the case. How do I get it working? Love the app!

For me, it was working automatically with no issue.

Got it. Had a VPN on which was preventing the local connection to take place.

My VM has no network. How does the internet settings in the VM look? Is it connected as LAN or WiFi?

Also cannot get networking to work. Just get a self-assigned IP address.
Host M1 Mini just has Wifi, no ethernet - is this the problem ?

Does anyone else have any more thoughts on what is happening with networking? For people who have it working, are you getting a vm IP that is on the same subnet as the host computer? I.e., is the VM being bridged to the lan connection or is it behind a NAT? Does anyone know if that is configurable? Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the response (and the great app!). Yes I saw that. I don't have internet sharing or airplay receiver enabled. That is why I was wondering about how the IP was configured so I could try and debug what is happening on my machine.

One of our users also had a similar issue and for him it was because of "both internet sharing and air play receiver in the sharing settings". Since Tart and VirtualBuddy uses the same underlying technology it might also be the case here. 🤷‍♂️

Disable Internet Sharing has fix it for me.

I've had the same issue. The guest macOS would show an active network connection but nothing would load.
I eventually figured out that this was due to my local network DNS not working for the guest. Setting a DNS in the Network Settings (of the guest VM) solved it.

Same here on Mac running 14.4 on host and guest. Used 1.1.1.1 as DNS.
