Maybe a crazy idea, but I hope nobody minds if I put it out there: Why not port CoreCtrl to use LACT as a backend? Maybe you could define some protocol for communication (like LSP). CoreCtrl already has a sophisticated GUI with a lot of the important & complex features implemented and only lacks the dedicated system-level daemon. Qt is also a lot more powerful than Gtk (e.g. fractional scaling!). And while Rust is certainly a nicer language than C++, for writing GUIs QML/JavaScript is even better.
