I am just reviewing old notes and had this as a suggestion. I'm not sure where the "Help" or "User Guide" link should live in the application. Wherever it ends up the User Guide itself will need to be updated.

or ... what if we added User Guide to the main Ilios flyout menu and displayed said User Guide in the application? Is that possible?

Love it. Not quite sure where to put it, but I think it belongs for sure. I wonder if we should also link to the guide from specific sections of the app. Maybe we could put that book icon on the course manager page, for example, and link it directly to the course part of the guide.

maybe stick it into the header toolbar as its own thing?

Icon in header is the group consensus. Let's add something pretty to the top. We'll play with some different icons in implementation.
