If we can find a good way to ensure, we should make sure that all states of the same protein should have the same set of state variables. So, if a variable is added to a macromolecule for instance, it should be added to all other states of the same macromolecule with empty values. Same applies to deletion of the state variable.
Should discuss further to determine

  • Exactly which node types does this apply to?
  • What should the default value be for other states?
