Neovim loads default config if opened from a "keybind launched" Ranger.

I've been having trouble using Neovim, while using Neovim conventionally or opening from within Ranger works as intended, opening Neovim from within a Ranger window that was launched from i3 keybinds makes Neovim load a default config.
I launch ranger like this:
bindsym [keybind] exec [terminal] -e ranger ....($mod+n and alacritty respectively in my case)
I made sure to check the correct directory placement for all 3 config files (i3, Ranger and Neovim). Honestly I do not know if this is an i3 issue or not and could possibly be Neovim's system vimrc file or the fall-back file or a "me" issue.
I've looked some Ranger, Neovim and i3 docs and discussions without luck so any help would be appreciated

My versions are:
i3 v4.23
Neovim v0.9.5
Ranger v1.9.3

It is really not a big deal since I can launch my terminal then Ranger then use Neovim there, but I would really love to take one or two less steps to open a file with neovim. Thanks in advance!
