I am not very familiar with the I3 syntax, so feel free to suggest a better title. I got amazing help last time, so I am attempting this again =)
I sometime find myself, wanting to pipe something very simple into a i3 command, it might be a number, some position or else.
I am aware that I can execute a bash script, but I feel it would be cleaner to have as much as possible of my config in the main config file. For instance this is what I do today
# cycle empty workspaces on current output
bindsym $mod+z exec --no-startup-id i3-msg workspace $(python ~/.config/i3/i3_next_unused.py)
This works, but is there a cleaner way to pipe the output from a command directly into the config?
