White space not preserved in the editable .svg diagram

I am unsure whether this is intended or not. However, I noticed that leading whitespace is not preserved when viewing the editable .svg diagram in web browsers. If I explicitly export the diagram as .svg, it shows the white space correctly, until a subsequent edit.

Could it be that the editor uses   for non-breaking whitespace, which is not supported in .svg?
