Hello,
I've checked out the source and am taking a look at it. I'm not a developer.
Is there an easy way with either a JS or CSS tweak that I can disable the scrolling list of Wikipedia changes on the page? What I want is just the audio without the display. I am blind and use screen reading software. I'm finding that the visual display is causing my screen reader to become sluggish.

Hey jfayre, I pushed a change which adds a toggle under settings to hide the recent changes box. Note that the count of edits seen still updates, hope that doesn't cause any trouble. Either way let us know if this fix works for you!

Also, for the record, would you mind providing some information about your setup? Mostly the operating system and screen reader versions. Thanks!

Oh, rereading this issue, did you mean you'd like to hide the main display as well? I can make that happen, too.

Possibly. Is the change pushed to the main site or do I need to pull
it from github on my end? I'll test and see what happens.
Thanks for doing this!

I pushed it to the main site, so you can just hit shift-refresh and go to the Settings section, or alternatively search for "Hide recent changes console" and just click the checkbox.
